Strategies for Your Organization to Live United


Description:
This interactive, hands-on workshop will walk participants through the newly created Toolkit for designing and implementing a diversity and inclusion management strategy. The program will cover the principles of effective diversity and inclusion management and leave participants with a working knowledge of the requirements for creating an environment that encourages full contribution from all stakeholders.

The program will guide participants through key diversity and inclusion management principles such as working through diversity tension and seeing it as a natural result of diversity, making decisions based on requirements, and distinguishing differences that contribute to and/or detract from achieving the organizations’ goals.

Participants will leave the session with the ability to move forward in the design and implementation of their strategies. They will have the opportunity to benefit from hearing local United Way diversity best practices and establish a network that can continue to support their efforts once the session is over. Workshop Objectives — Upon completion of the workshop participants will:

  • Explain the essential elements and processes needed to develop a diversity and inclusion management strategy.
  • Identify the resources and infrastructure needed to establish a sustainable strategy.
  • Develop a plan to jumpstart an initial diversity & inclusion strategy or build on one already in process.
